Every PEMF mat is described by two numbers. Frequency, in hertz, is how fast the field pulses. Intensity, the field strength, is how hard it pulses. Frequency is the one everyone publishes, and it is the less important of the two.
Intensity is where the category falls apart, because there is no shared unit. Gauss, milligauss and microtesla are all in use, and they are separated by factors of a thousand and a hundred. One gauss is 1,000 milligauss and 100 microtesla. So a brand quoting "10 gauss" and a brand quoting "0.8 milligauss" look like they are describing the same kind of thing, and are in fact 12,500 times apart.
OMI handles this best, and it is worth seeing how. Two units, both given, and they agree: 2 gauss is 200 microtesla, so 210 µT is 2.1 gauss, consistent to rounding. You can check their arithmetic, which is the entire point of publishing a spec. We cannot tell you where Hooga's figure came from and we are not going to guess. What we can tell you is that HigherDOSE does not publish a PEMF intensity, so any table that gives one for it is reporting something the manufacturer does not.

If you have researched PEMF mats for more than ten minutes, two names dominate: HigherDOSE and Hooga. Neither is ranked here, and you deserve the actual reason rather than a tactful one.

These are prescription devices, applied to a specific fracture site under orthopaedic supervision, and frequently covered by insurance for the approved indication.
A consumer mat is not one of these. It is a general wellness product, it carries no FDA clearance to treat any condition, and it applies a far weaker field across the whole body rather than a targeted one at a bone. When a brand cites "decades of FDA-approved PEMF research", that research is about the prescription device, not the thing you are lying on.
